GRAND RAPIDS, MI) - The luxury pet hotel invites the community to experience K9 Resorts’ premium boarding, daycare, wellness programming, and community partnerships.
K9 Resorts of Grand Rapids is celebrating National Pet Month with an Open House on Saturday, May 30, from 11:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. The community is invited to join the festivities that will include pet professionals and retailers, rescue organizations, giveaways, refreshments, and more. Located at 3345 28th Street SE, Grand Rapids, the 12,000 sq. ft. luxury resort for dogs will debut their summer programs and activity series and allow local dog parents to meet K9’s team of pet care professionals.
Owned and operated locally by Megan Ivaska, K9 Resorts Grand Rapids opened in 2025 as the state’s first location of the premier luxury dog boarding and daycare destination. Often referred to as the Ritz‑Carlton of dog hotels, the resort represents a modern evolution of the traditional kennel model.
The May 30th Open House will showcase K9 Resorts’ expanded summer offerings, including enhanced daycare enrichment programs, seasonal activities, and new guest experience upgrades. The event will also feature local pet-focused vendors with giveaways, raffles, and prizes, along with local rescue organization Hearts of Hope, which will be on-site with dogs available for adoption.
“We are excited to launch our Summer Camp program in June, says owner Megan Ivaska, “Each week is a different enrichment activity, from agility courses to sniff and seek, the program has been very popular with pet parents looking for ways to keep their dogs active in a safe and supervised environment.”
The resort borrows cleaning, sanitization, and disinfecting protocols from the healthcare industry. Its hospital‑grade HVAC system—more advanced than that used by some medical facilities—helps reduce stress levels by improving air quality, circulation, and odor control. Additional features include premium Kuranda bedding, Microban flooring, UV air filtration, and a highly trained, dog‑loving staff dedicated to exceptional care.
As part of its ongoing commitment to the community, K9 Resorts Grand Rapids offers its facility as an emergency foster resource for individuals facing eviction or crises, providing temporary boarding at no cost to pet parents in need.
K9 Resorts Grand Rapids is located at 3345 28th Street SE in Grand Rapids, adjacent to Woodland Mall. For more information, please visit https://www.k9resorts.com/grand-rapids or contact Mark Ivaska at mark.ivaska@K9Resorts.com.
