Michigan State Police encouraging attentive driving

Michigan State Police are urging caution and attentive driving over the holiday weekend after a third major crash in an Ionia County construction zone.

A crash on Tuesday killed two people and distracted driving played a role in the crash.

MSP Lt. Michelle Robinson says it is incredibly frustrating because many of the crashes can be avoided.

Robinson says drivers need to keep their eyes and attention on the road especially in highway construction zones. The same caution should be taken outside of work zones as well.
