The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says opioid deaths are decreasing across the state according to the latest data.
MDHHS says overdose deaths dropped by 34 percent from 2023 to 2024.
The agency says over 1.3 million naloxone kits have been purchased and distributed and almost 34,000 have reportedly been used to reverse an overdose.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's office has worked since 2019 to secure over $1.6 billion in settlements to provide funding for treatment, recovery and prevention programs.
