Local municipalities are hoping to be reimbursed for cleanup and repair costs associated with last week's severe thunderstorms in West Michigan, which has now been estimated to cost around $2.2 million dollars.
The preliminary assessment report will be sent to Governor Whitmer's desk, who may decide to issue a state emergency or disaster declaration.
A local state of emergency has already been declared by the county.
