Record seizure of fentanyl and 11 pounds of cocaine in Grand Rapids

A record seizure of fentanyl along with 11 pounds of cocaine have been confiscated from a home in Grand Rapids.

The fentanyl, weighing around 1.7 pounds, would have the potential to kill more than half of the Kent County population.

The defendant, 33-year-old Byron Lamar Swain, is to appear at a Grand Rapids court on Thursday.

The drugs, along with cash and a loaded 9 mm handgun, were found at Swain's home located on Norwich Avenue in the Black Hills Neighborhood during an April 1 raid.
