A man who decapitated a fellow teen in 1196 is being granted parole.
The Michigan Department of Corrections says Federico Cruz is projected to be paroled on March 25.
Cruz was 16 when he murdered 17-year-old David Crawford near Sparta in April 1996. Cruz took a video of the murder and it was so disturbing it was not shown to the jury that convicted him.
He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole however a U.S. Supreme Court decision in 2016 required he be resentenced.
