Ground broken on new Calhoun County solar farm

Consumers Energy and Hecate Energy broke ground today on a new solar farm in Calhoun County.

The project, named 'The Sunfish Solar 2 project', is expected to be up and running by the start of the summer of 2026. It will be able to produce 360 megawatts of electricity, enough to power nearly 70,000 homes and businesses. This project is the second of Consumer Energy's large-scale solar projects.
