FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - Charges have been filed against a man who authorities say released a cloud of poison gas at the Meijer in Fruitport Township.
Police say the incident happened at the store on Harvey Street near East Sternberg Road on September 24.
Alexae Johnson, 38, allegedly put a plastic bottle in the home goods section that was filled with pool and other chemicals.
The gas was released while he was allegedly caught on camera stealing from the store.
Four people had to be treated at a local hospital.
