Wreckage and remains of 2007 plane crash found in Lake Huron by MSP

Michigan State Police have confirmed that the remains of a plane wreckage found in Lake Huron weeks ago is from a plane crash 17 years ago.

It is believed the small plane crashed into the lake back in August of 2007 while attempting to fly from Bad Axe to Mackinac Island. The pilot, a 52-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 56-year-old man, were both from Washington, D.C.

The body of the pilot was found two months after the crash, but the passenger and the plane wreckage were never found, until now.
