GRPD investigating bank robbery in downtown Grand Rapids

The Grand Rapids Police Department are investigating a bank robbery in downtown Grand Rapids.

At around round 2:15 p.m., officers responded to a bank alarm at the United Bank located at 44 Ionia Ave. SW. The robbery suspect fled the scene before cops arrived and is not in custody at this time. The suspect did manage to obtain money before fleeing but the amount that has not been disclosed at this time.

Both GRPD and FBI responded to the scene for the investigation. There was no weapon seen by bank employees and no injuries have been reported.

The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Grand Rapids Police Department or Silent Observer.
