A West Michigan retired chef is being honored with a presidential award for time spent volunteering.
Chef Oliver Hale retired in 2010 but has spent over 4,000 hours volunteering for Meals on Wheels Western Michigan, Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio, WKTV, God's Kitchen, Festival of the Arts and Brookside Christian Reformed Church.
He was awarded the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award on Wednesday.
Chef O has won multiple other local and national awards as well.
