Juvenile facing charges related to shooting near Alger Middle School

The juvenile who shot and injured his friend near Alger Middle School is now facing charges.

The case is being handled in juvenile court, so the names of the defendants involved are not being made public, nor can the juvenile in question be sentenced to incarceration. However, Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker announced that the juvenile accused is facing charges of careless discharge of a firearm causing injury and larceny of a firearm.

The shooting is being described as "accidental."
