The Office of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says Rashad Maleek Trice is pleading guilty in connection to the kidnapping and murder of 2-year-old Wynter Cole-Smith and the assault of her mother.
Trice pleaded guilty to a count of murder and a count of sexual assault.
On July 2, 2023, Trice was the subject of a manhunt stretching from Lansing to Detroit after he assaulted the mother and kidnapped the toddler.
The toddler was found in Detroit on July 5.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 16.
