Grand Rapids Police reminding public of child curfew

The Grand Rapids Police Department is reminding the public of the city's youth curfew.

Under the ordinance, children under the age of 12 can be in public without an adult until 10 p.m., children under 15 can be out until 11 p.m. and children under 17 can be out until midnight.

The ordinance does not apply if a child is with a parent or guardian.

GRPD Chief Eric Winstrom says the ordinance is designed to keep kids safe.
