UPDATE: The shelter-in-place order has been lifted and a suspect is now said to be in custody.

FREMONT (WOOD-AM) - Newaygo County authorities are asking Fremont residents to avoid the area between Division and Merchant avenues and Cedar and Maple streets - and for those who live in the area to lock their doors.

They say the shelter-in-place order is due to a "police incident."

No other details have been released.

Fremont Public Schools are reportedly on a two-hour delay.
