The Grand Rapids Public Library is presenting For the Love of the Game, an exhibit highlighting the Detroit Tigers, Grand Rapids Chicks and Grand Rapids Black Sox.
The exhibit will run from May 23 until September 30 and will be free and open to the public during library hours. The exhibit will be located on the fourth floor of the Main Library at 111 Library Street.
Dr. William M. Anderson curated the exhibit with the support of library staff from archives.
The exhibit will include photographs of players taken by the Robinson Studio.
A launch event will be held for the collection on May 23 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Dr. Anderson will present during the event sharing his personal connections, memories and knowledge connected to the exhibit.
