The Kent County Correctional Facility is implementing the last phase of the Medication Assisted Treatment program.
The Kent County Sheriff's Office says the program aims to decrease the amount of overdose deaths that were occurring upon release from jail.
The program identifies individuals with a substance use disorder.
The individuals are then offered counseling, medications and other skills for reintegration.
KCCO says the program was developed two years ago and the final phase is now in implementation.
