The Grand Rapids Fire Department says three people, including a firefighter were injured in a house fire on Thursday.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Howard Street near Madison Avenue.
Firefighters helped a person in a wheelchair out of the home and then learned there was another person in the back of the home.
Firefighters were searching for the person when the room burst into flames, injuring a firefighter.
The firefighter sustained mild to moderate second-degree burns.
The occupants suffered smoke inhalation and an unspecified injury.
