Community Restaurant in Zeeland is reopening after a fire over a year ago.
The incident occurred on April 12, 2022 and the building was a total loss.
No one was at the restaurant at the time and no injuries were reported.
Owner Barry Elzinga says he remembers watching the building burn and knew then that he was going to bring the restaurant back.
The restaurant first opened in the 1960s and moved into the building that burned down in the 1970s.
Elzinga began working there in 1985.
The new restaurant will reopen in six to eight weeks and will feel similar to the previous space.
