New MI program hides addresses of survivors of violence

A new state program is allowing domestic violence, sexual assault and other abuse survivors to hide their addresses in public records.

The Address Confidentiality Program was created to help protect individuals live without the fear of being tracked down by their abusers.

The program was first approved by the Legislature in 2020 and was signed into law that December.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says this program can be the difference of live or death for some people.
