Grand Rapids Police say a K-9 officer that was injured in a crash on Friday will likely be able to walk again.
K-9 Dozer was injured in a crash that happened in the intersection of Madison Avenue and Hall Street around 3 a.m. Friday.
Officials say Officer Teddy VanVliet and Dozer were responding to a call with their lights and sirens on when an SUV hit their cruiser going at least 75 mph.
VanVliet was not injured but was trapped in the cruiser.
Dozer's hind legs were paralyzed in the injury however veterinarians say his spinal cord is still intact so he will likely be able to walk again.
