Former Republican attorney general candidate Matthew DePerno is facing charges in connection to accessing and tampering with voting machines in the 2020 election.
He was arraigned Tuesdsay afternoon in an Oakland County courtroom.
A document released by Attorney General Dana Nessel earlier this year alleges that five vote tabulators were taken from three counties and were broken into and tested in a hotel room. The document alleges DePerno was there.
DePerno has previously commented on the allegations and denies any wrongdoing.
Former state representative Daire Rendon was also charged. The charges carry a possible five year prison sentence.
