The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre marquee has been taken down to be refurbished.
The marquee has been in place for almost 20 years and the message board was installed in 2001.
Grand Rapids Civic Theatre Executive Director Bruce Tinker says the technology is currently a bit older and this is now an opportunity to update both items.
The updates will still have a historical feel but will use 20% less energy than the previous sign.
