A Kent County jury is handing down a guilty verdict to a man who shot and killed a 16-year-old who was riding his bike.
Brandon Lee Bechtold Jr. was found guilty of three counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of felony firearm, first-degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon.
The incident happened on July 4, 2022.
Police say 16-year-old Ja'Juan Webb was riding his bike with his friends on the northeast side of Grand Rapids when he was shot and killed.
Bechtold will be sentenced on August 16.
