Trinity Health Grand Rapids and Network 180 held a wall-breaking ceremony on Monday for a behavioral health crisis center.
West Michigan's Behavioral Health Crisis Center will be a 16-bed unit for brief intervention services.
The center will provide care for 72 hours for individuals regardless of their ability to pay for services.
Officials say the center will have a drop-off bay for police and emergency responders to safely transport individuals who may be struggling mentally.
