Authorities say an Ionia-based therapist that had his license suspended last week after it became apparent that he was having sexual relations with a patient was charged with nine criminal counts related to sexual abuse and fraud.
Derek Robertson, 50, entered a not-guilty plea after he was arraigned on three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual assault, three felony counts of health care fraud and three felony counts of delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance.
Reports say that the sexual relationship he had with a patient lasted for almost a year and a half.
