Pere Marquette Beach is welcoming back an eco-friendly beach robot with a goal of cleaning up the waterfront.
The technology is remote controlled and can pick up debris that is as small as 3 cm.
The robot is able to target microplastics which are often overlooked and can contribute pollution of waterways.
Muskegon city manager Jonathan Seyferth says microplastics affect drinking water in the Great Lakes area.
