Investigation into gun switches leads to charges against 11 individuals

Eleven people are facing felony charges after several law enforcement agencies partnered on an investigation that lasted more than a year.

U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Mark Totten says an investigation by federal, state and local agencies led to drug and gun-related charges against 11 individuals.

Eights of the suspects are from Benton Harbor, while three are from Grand Rapids.

Police say 23-year-old Eric Williams of Grand Rapids is still wanted.

Officials say the suspects are accused of buying and selling firearm switches that can turn a semi-automatic gun into a machine gun.
