BALTIMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Michigan State Police says a 17-year-old was killed and three others injured in a single-car crash on Maple Grove Road in Barry County.
Authorities were called to a scene around 11 p.m. Wednesday to Baltimore Township, southeast of Hastings, where investigators believe the car was heading westbound on Maple Grove when the driver lost control and rolled into a cornfield.
The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene after getting thrown from the car. MSP says the driver and two other passengers were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
State police said there was evidence at the scene that showed that speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
