GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Meijer says it will sell adaptive Halloween costumes for the first time ever.
They're made to accommodate children with disabilities.
The costumes will feature magnets, Velcro, and pull tabs instead of snaps and zippers. The costumes also have hook-and-loop openings for children with leg or arm braces.
“When my son was younger - he's 14, he still does need costumes to this day - but especially when he was younger, we had a hard time finding costumes for him," Meijer Disability, Advocacy and Awareness Team co-lead Carrie Prater told WOOD-TV.
Astronaut, mermaid, skeleton, and witch costumes are available.
