A preliminary hearing for former Grand Rapids Police Officer Chris Schurr is scheduled for October 27.
Schurr was charged with second-degree murder after he shot Patrick Lyoya in April.
The preliminary hearing has been pushed back twice after Schurr's attorneys argued they needed more time to review documents pertaining to the case.
The hearing date was set during a status conference on September 23.
