Officials say a suspect has died after a car chase with the Newaygo County undersheriff ended with a crash.
Michigan State Police are investigating the case.
Officials were called to Wilcox Township on reported of shots fired Monday afternoon.
Newaygo County Undersheriff Chad Palmiter spotted the Dodge Charger that matched the description of the vehicle involved in the shooting.
Palmiter attempted to pull the suspect over, however a chase began.
Officials say the suspect crashed into a tree on E. Baseline near S. Oak Avenue.
The suspect died at the scene.
