HASTINGS, Mich. - Craigh Hoffmann said a blaze broke out early Saturday morning and he and his wife's home on East State Road, and believes arson had something to do with it.
The couple and both of their dogs were able to escape while emergency crews put out the blaze.
Hoffmann then said he found a five-gallon gas can sitting outside the home, though investigators have yet to determine an official cause of the fire.
They expect an update from the State Fire Marshal on Monday.
