The Park Township board is approving a public safety millage proposal that will now go before voters in November.
Township Manager Howard Fink says the public safety millage will merge with the existing fire department and police services.
The additional funding would provide resources to create a marine division of the departments.
The proposal would lead to tax increases for the community, however it is unclear exactly how much homeowners should expect.
Officials say based on the average taxable value of a home in the township, homeowners could expect to see a $63.14 to $85.58 increase.
