Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker says he doesn't think he could ignore Michigan's 1931 law banning abortions.
Becker also acknowledged pending legal challenges to the ban that are awaiting decisions.
In a statement Monday, Becker says he has always thought it would be improper to pick and choose the laws he wishes to enforce.
Some Michigan prosecutors have said they will not pursue abortion cases after Roe V. Wade was overturned last week.
