MOORLAND TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - The state has euthanized 35,000 turkeys from a commercial farm in Muskegon County after avian influenza was found there.
Michigan produces around 5.3 million turkeys a year and the loss will have little-to-no impact on the supply, agriculture officials said.
The facility, reportedly Sietsema in the Ravenna area, is under quarantine.
Bird flu was first found in Michigan in a backyard flock in February.
