MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who allegedly stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the elderly woman whose money he was managing will stand trial on 14 criminal counts.
Gary Haynes, 57, of Comstock Park was charged in May with:
- One count of conducting criminal enterprises, a 20-year felony;
- One count of embezzling $100,000 or more from a vulnerable adult, a 20-year felony;
- Eight counts of embezzling between $1,000 and $20,000 from a vulnerable adult, a five-year felony;
- Four counts of filing a false tax return, a five-year felony.
A Muskegon County judge ordered him to stand trial on all the counts following the conclusion of a preliminary examination Tuesday.
