MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The federal government and a now-defunct military contractor will spend millions to clean up decades-old soil contamination just outside of Muskegon.
The property in question, 170 acres off S. Getty street south of Business 31, used to be owned by Teledyne, also known as TDY Industries.
The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality says PCBs, arsenic, cyanide, mercury and other chemicals were left behind in the soil from the manufacture of tank parts between November 1942 and March 1996.
