MECOSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Mecosta County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information about some vandalism at the Davis Bridge County Park Boat Launch to contact it.

Detective Sergeant Mike Mohr tells WOOD Radio News the damage occurred between April 30 and May 4 in Mecosta Township, just south of Big Rapids. It was done to a boat ramp launch bathroom.

"It appears that they actually tried to use a hammer and damaged the door," Sgt. Moore said in a telephone interview. "This (bathroom) is not even fully open yet. One side of the bathroom facility is open; the other side is not. They tried to break into the side that is not, and damaged the screen, damaged the door."

Sergeant Mohr says there is no surveillance camera footage of the incident. The location is off M-20 near US-131. It's an access point for boats to the Muskegon River.

Anyone with more information should contact the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office by calling 231-592-0150 or by email at tips@mecostasheriff.org.
