AETNA TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Three people were hospitalized Monday following a three-vehicle crash in Aetna Township.
The Mecosta County Sheriff's Office said it received a report that one person was pinned inside a vehicle and the other two drivers were injured around 4:45 on northbound US-131 near Jefferson Road.
Deputies said a car driven by a 33-year-old woman from Howard City hit an SUV that was parked on the shoulder of the road. The 46-year-old Springfield woman who was in the SUV suffered serious injuries. The car then came to rest on the roadway, where it was struck by a different SUV driven by a 64-year-old Grand Haven man. He was also seriously injured.
The car wound up on its side, and its driver suffered critical injuries.
No names had been released at the time of this report Monday morning. Police said they do not think alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
