GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation Department will host a community engagement event next Wednesday, March 11, called "Southside Creekways: Trail Conversations."
The city wants to gather public input for a project that will reimagine the Silver Creek and Plaster Creek corridors as a connected system that enhances recreation, mobility, and quality of life across southeast Grand Rapids.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at MLK Park Community Center on Fuller Avenue.

The event is part of the Southside Creekways project which is reimagining the Silver Creek and Plaster Creek corridors as a connected system that enhances recreation, mobility, and quality of life for residents and businesses across southeast Grand Rapids.
Community members are welcome to stop by at any time during this family-friendly event. Optional presentations about the project will be offered at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Lunch will be available beginning at noon and dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m., while food lasts.
Throughout the day, guests will have opportunities to:
- Meet Community Leadership Team (CLT) members
- Share input on project goals and priorities
- Help shape and refine route options outlined by the CLT
City staff and project partners will be available to answer questions and gather feedback that will help guide future planning and design decisions. A Spanish language interpreter will be available. Attendees are encouraged to bring family members, friends and neighbors to share their input as well.
