GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Many churches are holding community fish fry events on Friday evening.
Lent began on Wednesday. For Christians, it's a period of prayer and fasting with many people abstaining from eating meat on Fridays, leading up to Easter on April 5.
"We have our fish fry and fish supper guide up on the diocesan website," said Communications Director Annalise Laumeyer, with the Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids. "And this is a perfect opportunity to join our parish communities on Fridays during Lent, for some food and fellowship."
Our partners at WOOD-TV 8 provided of full list of fish fry events in an online article.
