LOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A train struck a garbage truck east of Alto late Monday morning, dislodging the hopper box from the truck and causing serious injuries to the driver.
Kent County Dispatch tells WOOD Radio that first responders were dispatched at 11:10 a.m. to the railroad crossing on Snow Avenue, south of 52nd Street in Lowell Township.
AeroMed was waved off while sheriff's deputies, Michigan State Police troopers and paramedics responded to the scene.
