Suspect charged in Sunday night fatal shooting in Greenville

STANTON, Mich. -- The 64B District Court in Montcalm County tells WOOD Radio that 67-year-old David Linscott was arraigned Tuesday afternoon on charges of open murder and felony firearm in connection with a fatal shooting Sunday night.

It happened around 9:30 in a home on North Burgess Street in Greenville.

City police say first responders arrived to find the shooter standing in the doorway of the home. They found a 62-year-old man in the bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim allegedly identified his roommate as the one who fired the gun. The court says a probable-cause conference has been scheduled for March 11th.

Detectives are still trying to determine what prompted the shooting.

The name of the victim had not been released at the time we first reported this story at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
