GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Traffic on westbound 28th Street between Eastern and Union avenues has been impassable at times this (Tuesday) afternoon.
A 12-inch water main ruptured overnight and crews had to dig up a section of the right lane to make repairs. As of the time of this report at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, crews have been on the scene since around 4 a.m.
Six businesses were impacted before water service was restored late in the morning. The road still had to be filled back in and repaved. So, until that is completed, traffic will be slow in that area. You may want to seek an alternate route.
