Grand Rapids Police investigate after snowplow fatally strikes pedestrian

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Police are investigating after a snowplow plowed into a pedestrian early Saturday morning on the city's southeast side.

In a news release, the GRPD says a man was declared dead at the scene after officers responded to the area of 28th Street and Breton Road around 4:45 a.m. Police say a commercially owned plow truck struck him. His name has not been released yet, nor details about how it happened. The name of the company that owns the truck was not immediately available.
