PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - A child and his mother were hospitalized - but are expected to recover - after getting pulled from a body of water at Plainfield Township's Versluis Park last night.
Firefighters were called there before 7:40 p.m.
Authorities say the boy swam beyond buoys marking a swimming zone, then went under the water the water's surface.
The mother also went under after jumping in.
Both mother and child were treated at the scene, then sent to the hospital.
