EAST GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - A revised plan for a vacant area of the East Grand Rapids Gaslight Village area was presented yesterday to city commissioners.
"We explored a lot of alternative plans since we last met," Scott Weirda of Gaslight Investors said. "Frankly, it has been fun going through a lot of ideas to work on traffic, height (and) density.”
The revisions saw mixed reviews.
"We need more parking than we had before, not less," a woman said during public comment.
Several buildings have been sized down.
The project also has fewer housing units and less parking.
Commissioners can't take action on the plan for at least the next 30 days.
