Deputies: Wrong-way driver arrested on U.S. 131.

ALAMO TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - A 35-year-old driver from Chicago was arrested this morning after trying to flee from a Kalamazoo County Sheriff's deputy on U.S. 131 after their vehicle was seen going northbound in the southbound lanes.

The chase began after 1 a.m.

The driver was stopped using road spikes and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and for being in possession of illegal drugs.

No injuries were reported.

The driver is being held in the Kalamazoo County Jail.
