Runestad chosen to lead Michigan Republican Party

LANSING (WOOD-AM) - Jim Runestad has been chosen as the new chairperson of the Michigan Republican Party.

The State Senator from White Lake defeated conservative activist Meshawn Maddock, who had President Trump's endorsement.

Runestad was selected with 63 percent support.

Former State Senator Curtis Hertel was chosen to lead the Michigan Democratic Party in a separate event.
